Page after page we were discovering Iceland as incredible book full of stories and pictures. Here you will see multiple photos of roads as it is a pleasure to drive around and enjoy amazing landscape. There is always a chance to meet Icelandic horses and we were lucky that day. Also, I will tell you where is the best restaurant to try unique taste of langoustine and why you should arrive to your place before the sun set.

It was a stop at the Kviarmyrarkambur glacier with a superb view and easy access. The misty weather in early morning did not prevent us from enjoying a breathtaking panoramic view  in front of this glacier .

There is also exciting boat trips on glacier lagoon. It developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The late has grown since then and it recently become the deepest lake in Iceland. You can sail among the huge icebergs in picturesque scenery of Jokulsarlon. More information you can find here on the website. From our experience it is better to book the tickets or arrive there in time if you are ready to spend money and gain amazing experience. As they have only four amphibian boats (adults 5700 isk or arount 57 usd per person) but there is also Zodiac boat tour (adults 9800 isk or around 98 usd per person).

It was unusual to see such big piece of ice on the beach.

Vikings... so cute.

And here we are, amazing place where you can eat. More details on their website Humarhofnin. There you will find their menu and prices. We tried langoustine and lamb there and everything was delicious and expensive but worth the money.

Then we travel further and most part of our journey was driving this time. So here you sill see several photo of picturesque landscape.

Really often there are places where you can stop and enjoy the view especially when you think how beautiful the horizon is. Sometimes you can also find a bench or a table and have a lunch.

Unfortunately, I am not sure what does this stone mean but it is beautiful.

Icelandic horses are majestic, they have lively temperament and love being arount people. The difference from common is that they are much shorter that other horses but still immensely powerful and charming.
Roads are narrow and could be tricky sometimes, especially when you are excited by surroundings. The general speed limit in Iceland is 50 km/h in urban areas, 80 km/h on gravel roads in rural areas and 90 km/h on asphalt roads.
Picture
The mountain roads are narrow. Numerous hairpin turns and winding bends are on your way so you should be careful and better stick to speed limit.
Picture
However, experience shows that Icelandic nature can be harsh and inhospitable. Many accidents occurs every year. So it is strongly advised to exercise caution and respect for the Icelandic nature and your own health.
Picture
The weather could be very changeable during your trip and you will be shocked how often it changes throughout one single hour.
Picture
Here you can see how a surface of loose gravel looks like and we where shocked and thought that maybe we missed some turn. Where is the road? - was in our head. But still they are working on it but for now large sections of the national highway can be like this if you are going to drive around Iceland, but it also has long stretches of asphalt.
Picture
The bridges in Iceland it is another topic. They are also very narrow and most of them are only wide enough for one car at a time. Later I will show you how it is in practice.
Picture
You know, all passengers should use seat-belts all the time and it does not matter in the front or in the back sears you are sitting. Maybe it is because such friends which you always can meet on the road. And yes, you are the guest here, not they. They are at home.

So please be cute.
See you later :)
Hugs and smiles,
Cofi
